Bathrooms and Showers
Providing Level Access & Low Level Showers
Disability Showers usually replace baths but may be additional to the bath if space permits.
Being able to get around the bathroom is one of the keys to an independent lifestyle, and ILS are responding to this with a wide variety of services to help.
Showers - are much easier to use than baths. We can install a shower tray that is easy to access (low level or flush with the floor) with a textured surface that will help prevent slips. We can install trays that have been designed to fill the space previously occupied by a bath.
Level access wet floor showers are now very popular especially with Occupational Therapists as they will meet peoples needs long term with slip resistant vinyl flooring covering the whole floor.
Doors, curtains or a cubicle will complete your shower facility. Curtains are cheaper than doors, but do not retain the water so well. You might like to consider half-height or barn style doors, which allow someone to help with bathing.
Specialist Baths
Step into a whole new bathing experience with a walk-in bath.
This luxury bath features a side entry door, with easy to use locking mechanism and low entry point, and a particularly convenient seat height to make getting in and out of the bath sheer simplicity.
Specialist Toilet
An automatic shower toilet combines the functions of loo and bidet in one unit, enabling many less able people to use the toilet unaided.
A range of remote control options are available, as well as specialised accessories such as padded seats, height raising plinths and octopus support arms.
SPECIAL FEATURES:
Simultaneous flushing and washing (a unique feature) reduces infection risks. Combines functions of a W.C. and bidet into a unit no larger than a conventional W.C. thus saving floor space and service cost.
Easy to operate - all functions initiated by one operation.
Can be used at all times as a conventional flush W.C. - the washing/drying action operates only when seated.
